Family Day Weekend in #TheBridge
Family Day Weekend is just around the corner and what a better place to plan a family vacation (or staycation) than Bracebridge?! This little town is the perfect spot to explore in the winter with something for every member of the family.
Remember that you can take advantage of the Ontario Staycation Tax Credit. Ontario residents can claim 20% of their eligible 2022 accommodation expenses, for example, for a stay at a hotel, cottage or campground, when filing their personal Income Tax and Benefit Return for 2022. You can claim eligible expenses of up to $1,000 as an individual or $2,000 if you have a spouse, common-law partner or eligible children, to get back up to $200 as an individual or $400 as a family.
Explore the Trails at the Bracebridge Resource Management Centre
A very family-friendly trail system with 22 kms of cross country ski, snowshoe and fat bike trails.
* Hot Tip! Take Trail 2 to meander down beside the river and take in the dreamy views of the North Branch of the Muskoka River.
Grab a Pint at a Local Brewery
Craft beer and Bracebridge go hand-in-hand! Our breweries serve as a meeting place not only for great taste, but a place to make memories with the ones you love! Roast a marshmallow over the fire at Muskoka Brewery or challenge your pal to a board game at Katalyst Brewing.
Lace Up the Blades at an ODR
Hit one of our outdoor rinks for a leisurely skate, or a game of hockey amongst family or friends!
Peruse the Shops in Downtown Bracebridge
Long known as Muskoka’s Downtown, Downtown Bracebridge truly does offer something for everyone. What better way to spend an afternoon with your mother than some classic retail therapy?
Need a place to crash for the long weekend? Booking in advance saves money and frustrations as weekends (especially long weekends), are busy in Bracebridge, and accommodations fill up quickly!
We hope you have a fun and safe time exploring Bracebridge with these suggestions this Family Day Weekend. And as always, please remember to take only photos, leave only footprints, and tag us in your adventures on social media @visitthebridge.
