Bake or Break
Summer has officially arrived! The warm sunshine has us out taking on all of our favourite activities we've greatly missed over the long winter months.
Bracebridge has no shortage of hiking, cycling, and paddling routes for you and your family to enjoy, but sometimes we all just need a chill weekend to really relax, which is what this season is all about!
We invite you to decide to bake or break (or both!) on a Saturday afternoon and let us be #TheBridge to your tastebuds.
On your way to the Bracebridge Farmer’s Market located at Memorial Park on Manitoba Street, from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm every Saturday, stop by Connie’s Cafe Plant Based Kitchen for organic fare trade coffee (hot or on ice), you can even enrich your drink with a flavour shot of Irish cream, Peppermint, Vanilla, Strawberry, or Chocolate.
While you sip your java, you can people watch, engage with the local vendors, and consider picking up fresh ingredients to cook or bake up some goodies for your friends or family after your outing.
On those sunny summery days when it’s too hot to cook or do dishes (I mean who likes doing dishes?!), you can wander through the farmer’s market and historic downtown to get to one of the many inviting eateries exclusive to #theBridge.
For wholesome meals made from scratch check out Fine Thymes Restaurant, and be sure to save room for their homemade carrot cake for dessert!
If you're looking to add some spice to your day, stop by El Pueblito for the authentic taste of Mexico with tacos, burritos, empanadas, and more!
Nothing says time-off like indulging your sweet tooth! And nothing is more Canadian than a gooey buttertart. Kitchen’s Buttertarts serves a selection of sweet and savoury pastries, and their buttertarts are to die for. Pick some up to complete your Canadian weekend away!
If you still haven't satisfied your sweet tooth, you can pick up fresh homemade fudge from North Country Fudge or Cool down with a cone, milkshake or sundae from The Ice Cream Shoppe.
After all that touring, you deserve a break! Take your treats or ice cream to the High Falls Picnic Area or one of the many gorgeous parks Bracebridge has to offer. Experience the sights and sounds of the flowing Muskoka River.
We want to hear from you and all about your discoveries! Be sure to tag us in your adventures on social media @visitthebridge.
