Family Fun in #TheBridge

Family Day falls on Monday, February 20th this year, which means it is time to plan memory making experiences to make the most of this time of year! We think using this weekend as an opportunity to get outdoors is the ideal way to spend quality time with your loved ones.

Below you can find some of our recommendations for family fun activities and experiences that Bracebridge has to offer this weekend.

Ice Fishing

Did you know that the Ontario government designates Family Day Weekend, February 18th to 20th, 2023, as a license-free fishing period to introduce Canadians to the sport? Muskoka Tourism even created an interactive map to see what fish are in our local lakes!

Camp Big Canoe

Have you been to the camp in the winter? Come out to Camp Big Canoe on Sunday February 19th, from 11 am-4 pm to check out the site. Dress for the weather, bring your skis, snowshoes or sled and come to play. To RSVP fill out this form.

Snowshoeing, Skiing and Fat Biking

There are so many beautiful trails to enjoy all winter long here in Bracebridge. You can learn more about our trails and current conditions on the Town of Bracebridge's website. If you’re looking for rentals or guided tours check out LivOutside.

If you prefer to stay indoors there are still many ways to bring the family together.

Marvel Trivia at The Bracebridge Library

Gather your family and friends and test your knowledge at Marvel Trivia on Saturday, February 18th, 1-2 pm. From Iron Man to Ant Man, the Bracebridge Library will be testing you on everything from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Put on your Marvel costumes and compete for a marvel-themed prize pack! You can RSVP your team (4-6 people) here.

Family Activities at the Bracebridge Sportsplex

The Recreation department has a day full of activities to get you moving. From pickleball and public swimming to crafts and activities, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Family Day programming is brought to you by Parry Sound – Muskoka MPP and Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry, Graydon Smith. For more information on the schedule of events, check out page 22 of the Leisure Guide.

Need a place to crash for the long weekend? Booking in advance saves money and frustrations as weekends (especially long weekends), are busy in Bracebridge, and accommodations fill up quickly!

We hope you have a fun and safe time exploring Bracebridge with these suggestions this Family Day Weekend. And as always, please remember to take only photos, leave only footprints, and tag us in your adventures on social media @visitthebridge.
