Don’t Wait Until the Dog Days of Summer to Visit #TheBridge with Fido!

With the warm weather upon us, now is the perfect time to emerge from hibernation and get out-and-about with our four legged friends. Bracebridge has an ever-growing canine culture and there are countless amenities to keep Buster smiling.

Three Amigos Dog Park

Our first recommended stop would be Three Amigos Dog Park, located at Kerr Park, adjacent to the Muskoka River off Beaumont Drive.

The park features separate off-leash areas for both large and small dogs, a shady rest area for mom and dad and plenty of space for Rover to let out some energy. The friendly canine community coupled with the green grass, chalet and tennis courts at Kerr Park makes this a must-visit for dog lovers.

Before venturing out to the Park, click here to read up on the rules and regulations to ensure you are well equipped for your outing with Oscar.

Dog-Friendly Trails

Once Fluffy has exerted some energy at the park, why not head out to one of the many trails in-and-around town to continue the fun? #TheBridge offers trails of all shapes, sizes and difficulty levels. There is a walk to suit every type of dog as long as a leash is worn and poop is scooped.

Where to start? Conveniently located just steps away from the entrance to Three Amigos Dog Park is Strawberry Point Trail. The trail makes for a leisurely walk and features a viewing platform showcasing scenic views of Strawberry Bay Point on Lake Muskoka. Looking for something a bit more challenging for your high-energy hound? Hop on Highway 11 and head just north of town to the Bracebridge Resource Management Center (BMRC). The extensive BMRC trail system consists of 30+ trails of all difficulty levels. Walk all through the forest with Rex and stop at one of the many picnic areas to “paws” and rest.

There are a myriad of trails to explore throughout Bracebridge. Click here for a detailed list of dog-friendly trails and discover them all with Buster this spring.

Pet Spas & Grooming

At the end of the day, treat Otis to some TLC at a local pet spa. Businesses dedicated to pampering your pup are more popular than ever and a great place to send your pooch to give them a vacation of their own.

Located at the south end of Town and just a short drive from the downtown core, the Muskoka Spaw for Pets has been a popular pet getaway for over 15 years. They offer full grooming services, daycare and even boarding options, catering to Buddy and family’s every need.

At the north end of town, Paw Tyme Dog Grooming & Spa is a perfect spot to doll-up your doggie. They offer a range of grooming services for dogs of all breeds, and also offer clinics to help dog owners learn various grooming techniques like nail trimming.

If Spot is in need of a quick rinse, Pet Valu in Bracebridge offers convenient self-serve dog wash stations where you'll find everything you need to get your pet clean and smelling great.

When heading out-and-about with your furry friend, please remember to take only photos, leave only footprints, and tag us in your adventures on social media @visitthebridge.
